Baggo Top 5: #5 Michigan State Preview

Michigan State finished up their 2014 campaign with a comeback win against then #5 Ranked Baylor Bears. Down 20 points with only 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, Michigan State scored 21 unanswered 4th quarter points to win the 2015 Goodyear Cotton Bowl. This year the Spartans have 13 returning starters including a Senior Quarterback & a strong veteran O-Line. While the Spartans should be favored in almost every game they play, they do have a few potential “trap games”. Week 2 the Spartans host the Oregon Ducks in East Lansing, looking to avenge their 2014, 46 – 27 loss in Eugene, Oregon. The Spartans should cruise until the middle of October, when they make the short journey over to Ann Arbor to play their rival, the Michigan Wolverines, for the Paul Bunyan Trophy. Two short weeks later the Spartans are back on the road in Lincoln Nebraska to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers, in a game that came down the wire in 2014 with the Spartans coming out on top. The Spartans will then face their biggest test of the year at Columbus, Ohio as they try to avenge their 2014, 49-27 loss to the eventual National Champion, the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Spartans will close the season in East Lansing against the Penn State Nittany Lions. If the Spartans can get past the Oregon Ducks in Week 2, they may have a match up of the unbeaten when they travel to Columbus to battle the Ohio State Buckeyes.
